During my life as skater I have had the opportunity to use all kinds of bearings, and I didn’t really expect much from these bearings that Grindhouse sell under its own brand name, however, I accepted the task to write a review of these ceramic bearings.

They are actually a hybrid of steel, ceramic and nylon bearings and Grindhouse promises they are faster, with a more prolonged durability than the common bearings. Similar bearings have long been used in speed skates but never rarely been used by aggressive skaters due to doubts of their durability, hence my own lack of confidence.

I have tried both Street, Skatepark, Skatecross, high jump ramp, cobblestone streets and finally making high-speed descents – all the results can be summarized in 2 questions with their respective answers:
1st question: Ceramic bearings? Sure, I bet they break on the first jump.
False, these bearings endure absolutely everything you throw at them, gaps, bumps, bad ground … Everything.
2nd question: Ok, but then they can’t be as fast as they say, it’s impossible to have everything …
Well it seems that it’s possible to have everything, and these bearings really show this from the first moment thanks to ease of movement and speed from the first use. Conventional bearings require several uses to reach maximum performance, but with these, you get it from the first moment.
So, you can grind longer, make huge gaps (also with stair landings). If you love Powerblading like me, then you’ll also embarass speed skaters with your bombing speed!!!
Let me give you some advice: Use your wheels for another month, save up and buy a complete set of these bearings – believe me, it’s worth it!
